I kept it simple. 3' pieces for the vertical side pieces and 16" pieces for the smaller horizontal pieces. I made it that size so I could basically roll out the mesh without having to make too many cuts, just top and bottom. I didn't know much either till I looked at other examples and called around for anyone carrying 1/2" PVC. Then there was lots of drawings to help me see it before I built it.
