Drill a hole(about 1-1/2" deep in each end that is the diameter of the WW stand. Cut the WW stand vertical member with a hacksaw(about in the middle). Take each section of the stand and insert in the two holes with a little epoxy glue. I just wanted to say to the the maker of the wodent wheel, I bet he owns no gliders or they lost their tails' that are " semi- prehencil" , because he would know that the suggees will loosely grab on to the shaft while in the wheel( as a since of security), and this is how a flip would " Knot their tale" inside the wheel because of the sudden overlapping of the tail or tails. This is an easy occurance because it is the very same type of knotting system that would occur if you are tying a boat to a dock cleat, it requires no typical knotting techniques like you would normally concider a knot. All you would do to tie a boat to a dock is just over lappening the rope loosely over itself in a figure eight pattern and then you pull the front of the rope tight. The only differences in this knotting system in the gliders case would be the need the overlap in the figure eight pattern, which would not need to take place because of the ungreased shaft. The tail would pull itself tight in the flip. I know these senerios are hard to expain so I use a lot of comparisons, thanks for all your dedicated help Randy

I am pro-stealth wheels. I have owned 2 of the WW. After watching my first glider in it for a very short time I could see all the potential dangers. I have 4 of the stealths and they are the best for virtually being silent, easy to clean, and super safe. While going through old posts, I came across this one. I think it deserves bumping up so others may read. To me this is a very real concern and safety issue.

I am in love with my stealth. I ditched the wodent a long time ago because I'm not the lightest sleeper in the world and it kept me as well as everyone else up. We tried lubing it with oil and it didn't help at all. I didn't like how "closed" it was and just plain detested the wheel. At the time I'd never heard of a stealth wheel. I ordered my first and fell in love with it.

Wow, nasty SCARY stuff... I have been pretty satisfied with my Wodent wheels, and just clean them once a week, but, to tell the truth, if a glider's tail can get caught like that, I think I need to look at another wheel design. I still can't say that I understand how they could bump their heads, but I can tell you this, mine like to get in the wheel two at a time, too... and this is just too risky. Tink actually likes to grab onto the side and hang on (yet is too chicken to play with her "Wheel of Terror" that I bought from Suncoast).
