yeah, true on the juicer, lol.. but a glider masticates their food to get the juice, not anywhere near as efficient as a juicer

I guess I am lucky. My gliders are on Reep's diet & eat every kind of vegie & fruit I have tried. So far that has been corn, peas, carrots, green beans, peppers, cucumber, squash, mushroom, tomato, broccoli, sweet potato, eggplant, cauliflower, cantalope, honeydew, apple, pear, kiwi, watermelon, papaya, mango, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, coconut & very rarely pineapple & orange. I rotate what they get so they get what is fresh & in season

You also have to remember that gliders don't really eat the fruits and veggies. They mainly just suck all the juice and nurtients out of it. If they are getting all the juice and nutrients that they need out of the HPW then they wont want/need anything else. If you are really worried you could try what I suggested before or just weigh them everyday to see if they are losing weight from not eating the solids. I really don't think you should be too worried though.

I just made a new (double) batch of the PP diet, but I think I am going to try Reeps when I finish that. I think my guys will really like it and I really would like to be using the Wombaroo in their diet.

I tried limiting the fruits and veggies, and it worked! The gliders slurpped up every bit of HPW and still ate their fruits and veggies! Thanks for the idea!

I cleaned the girls' room as I do every day and found that all their poops are very light tan in color. Another worry.

Has anyone else experienced this with HPW? They get two mealies at night, and two more in the morning if they are good (which sometimes they are not, and do not come to me. Teenagers!!)

Other than that, I have been alternating carrots, sweet potato, and corn with cherries, papaya, and peaches - all their favorite foods, 1 fruit and 1 veggie combo per night (i.e. papaya with carrots, cherries with corn, sweet potato with peaches). Oh, and I fed blueberry yogurt two nights ago.

Any thoughts on the bleached poop?

the poop is most likely just from the difference in their staple food. as long as it's not runny/bloody I really see no cause for concern

So, this is Day 7 or 8.

I had an idea, and it seems to work better for the girls as far as getting them to go forage for veggies and fruits. If I serve the HPW mix in separate little bowls, as I have done with Gliderade, then they drink it all up, don't even leave a drop - AND they seem to eat more of their fruits/veggies.

There's no HPW scum hidden beneath uneaten food, and they are eating more of their "dish" food than they have been.

OK, I think this is my last post on this project.

The gliders' coats are definitely starting to become much more soft. I don't notice a change in their smell or demeanor, but I have discovered that they will eat more fruits and veggies along with their HPW if I place the only HPW in their bowls and let the forage for the rest. They eat every drop of the HPW, and they seem to enjoy hunting for the rest of their food as they would do in the wild.

Of course, it makes for a bit more cleanup on my part, what with all the food confetti around the room, but that's what steam cleaners and vacuums are for! And little Mica loves the leafy parts of celery - not the stalks, but the really leady green parts. Who knows? It just means I have to cook with more celery and let them eat the leafy greens.

My glider does the same thing. She loves her HPW but will not eat her other foods from her dishes. Yet if I hide it and make her hunt for it, or work for it she eats it all.

I too just switched to hpw from bml. My husband would tell me my boys are "stinky"..nice huh? LOL...so I am on day 4 of hpw. At least with Quincy he still eats everything in his bowl. Every morning it's clean as a whistle! Jay & Silent Bob really seem to like the hpw better than the bml. Usually they leave some food in their bowls...some of the bml would be gone, and they don't seem to care for green beans or apples. They all seem to love mango now! Before I could hardly give that, except as a rare treat because of the bml fruit list.

I do think bml is a great diet though. But if hpw will make my guys smell a little less obvious to my husband and make them look even better than they do now...so be it! Personally, their scent doesn't bother me as much as it does him. I guess I'm just more used to it.

And yes, I too noticed tonight their poop is a tad lighter, but still firm.

Thankfully, my girls' poops are returning to normal color. I guess it was a cdombo of whatever I had fed them that day plus the HPW.

It's funny: their diet was really good before, but now I know that they are getting what they need in a tiny amount of liquid, and anything on top of that is a bonus. It's like their whole meal is a treat! They love the HPW, and I can feed them their favorite fruits and veggies and mealworms - how awesome is that?
