We are military, and live in NC, I finally got back to owning gliders after having had to give them up when we were transferred to HI in 03. Now they are talking about sending us to CA. Another illegal state! We are trying to fight it, but don't know if we'll succeed. Does anyone know if there is a permit I can apply for or anything? Male is neutered, I have no plans to breed or sell. I just really don't want to have to get rid of my pets if we end up in CA.

First, for your service! My son is a Marine and is currently stationed at Camp LeJuene, NC.

To my knowledge, there are no exceptions within the state of California to own gliders. To verify this, you may want to contact someone from the state. I sure hope they don't transfer you there so you can keep your gliders.

My fiance is in the Guard and may be doing training in CA in a year or two. We've decided that I will stay wherever I am at the time, and he will go to CA alone. Obviously that isn't always feasible, or the best choice for every family.

The majority of my family are in CA. We had discussed a few years back about moving out there but I knew gliders were illegal out there From all of my research-I was not able to find anything stating there was anything such as permits to keep them.
