Well, my eyesight isn't great, and I'm overdue for bed, lol-but you're right on the skin. ohwell It does look at least broken-so oral antibiotics would be non negotiable. Thanks for seeing that.
They can't handle the heat sources-is anyone familiar with the frog experiment?

"Drop a frog in boiling water-he'll know he's in trouble and jump out....heat him up slowly in cold water, and he'll sit there and boil to death" - 9th grade science class (in my case), and Pierce Brosnan in Dante's Peak.

Unprotected heat sources in a gliders cage will produce similar results, particularly with a young joey not ready to be separated from the parents. They joey doesn't understand when to "jump out".

IF that's a potential, it needs treated. I'd also suggest SSD (or silver sulfazadine cream) as a topical in that case to help accelerate healing of the skin. Neosporin can also be used but NOT the kind with pain relief UNLESS the glider is secure in a collar and cannot get to the ointment-it can numb the tongue and cause the glider to bite it-they will try and groom it off.

I have heard that (about the frog) and thought it was a similar situation here. Hopefully he has been able to get to a vet and got this baby some help. I have had some bad burns before and they are very painful, so I can imagine how this little one must hurt if this is, indeed a burn.

OMG now im even more scared. I'm not with her right now, its my GF whos taking care of her while i workc(its 10 AM for me).

Im feeding her baby formula, apples and grapes for the moment. Im placing her more in the 8 weeks because the previous owner didnt notice when she was born at all, she knew she was born after they went OOP. With the heat pads i use, i never have her make direct contact with it, they are mostly to keep the box warm, I do have a heat stone but its not that good, it stays too hot for my liking so i've stayed with heat packs. i cant actually i've her back to the owner so she stays with her parents either since the previous owner is a junior high student and doesn't have much time to take care of them at all

she hasn't broken the skin at all, just seems to be shaving herself for some reason and licking like crazy since its very wet on the spot. She isn't doing it anymore since she has the collar on. She has an appointment with the vet at 11 and my GF is taking her, As soon as she finds out whats wrong ill let you know

She is going after the area because it is bothering her (most likely hurts). It is good you have an appt. Please keep us posted.

I may be wrong, but in the pic, it looks like she has a small cut/sore on her right front leg. And it looks like her legs look red, as well, which is why I suspect the heat burned her skin (again, I may be wrong). Whatever is going on, I hope they can help her asap!

Make sure to keep the collar on. She should heal up. You are a wonderful suggie dad and she is very lucky to have you. You can put extra fleece pieces in with her to help keep her warm, as well.

I'm so sorry. cry hug2 hug2 It's possible she really was too young, and there were other things going on inside. It's not your fault-you did the best you could. She will wait for you at the Rainbow Bridge with our lost little ones

I'm so sorry the little one didn't make it. What a shock for you.

Hugs.

I am so sorry! I know you cared for your little baby the best you could.

If you have time/patience/money to do it...you should have her looked at more...have the vet tell you WHY she passed away. I do not know about your country...but here there are laws...and you definitely could not have had her too long. Maybe you should get in contact with that kid that sold you the glider...there is NO reason you should have had to deal with it...and yeah...they may be young...but they need to be responsible for their own actions too.

Again I am so sorry. I hope whne your heart heals you can find another glider. I was not expecting this to be the end to the story...my hreat goes out to you. You did your best and you loved her dearly. She knew that and will always be watching over you.
