I don't see a problem with it as long as they are no small parts, removable or sharp pieces. Since you are going to use only as a tent time toy that is good since you would need to use it under supervision. $4 is not bad, i'd try it to see what they think and if they don't like it, you could always find someone with kids to give it to! just don't forget to wash it real good!!
